“Protection of an Angel”

This woodburning was designed for my submission for the Ornaments for World Peace installation at Lincoln Center presented by CityARTS.

The inspiration for this piece came from my definition of “world peace.” World Peace to me is about respect. It comes down to a mutual understanding and respect towards others who are different, whether it be race, religion, orientation, etc. Acceptance of these differences is what enables peace. But topics of this magnitude are fragile and easy to destroy. They require the “Protection of an Angel” to keep them in tact, and keep world peace.
